Fastest solutions!

I've looked all over the forums, but wasn't able to actually find a "fastest" solutions Thread.
What do I mean with that?
Well, frequently someone asks for the "best" solution, that is usually the solution the Person finds the most elegant one.
I was fooling around with two friends when we wanted to start a competition for the best solution, the easiest way to compare two solutions is: which one is faster?
So we made some tests and came up with these:
Fastest solutions:

This will be much more difficult to measure since the app doesn't display the number of frames (calculation iterations), and there are a number of different CPU types and speeds. Still, you could at least get a pretty good idea of what solutions are faster even if we won't know exactly which design is faster once they get close enough to each other.

I thought of this too but decided without an in game clock of some kind it would just be too subjective to people with stopwatches since most levels could end up divided by milliseconds.

Perhaps mister Pacifist could introduce some scoring... Ticks divided by parts, or something?

But then that kind of takes away from the magic of the game being so innocent and about fun... it elevates it to competition...

I certainly find it interesting, for I have only one "fast" solution (the catapult) that works most of the time.

About the stopwatch-thing: I use AutoIt to start two runs in seperate Browser instances.
The one that finishs first is most of the time obvious
And believe me, usually the timedifference between two setups is big enough to be seen by the naked eye.
Once I finished 5-10 runs (depends on how big the gap is) I choose the faster by the average result!

I've got a very fast non-catapult Unpossible here. (Some catapults are probably even faster, but that's much less fun than a giant elevator).

I like how the bike jumps over the ridge, without bumping into it as did most of my previous trials with bikes. This initial momentum makes dragging the chain that much easier. (It might be made a bit faster by shortening the chain a bit).

Good initiative imrahil, despite it being kinda hard to measure at the moment. I gotta say though your catapult designs are fascinating - you're using gravity a lot to your advantage, something I usually don't when doing catapults... thanks for the inspiration!

Here's a faster Mars Shot... though it seems slower, because more things are happening on the screen.

I compared speed by putting a falling log in the screen, to judge it vs. the previous Mars Shot. It's pretty much the best way I find, since there are no other truely reliable ways at this moment... and gravity is a constant.
