Nicely done mtdewd. I showed a friend my version and we were wondering if it would be possible to turn the crawler into a transporter that drops the target when it stands up. I guess that I won't need to wonder anymore...or even try now.

The one thing that's strange is that I started with the lower catapult to see how many wheels I needed. I need to take a closer look at yours to see what I am doing wrong. You didn't need nearly as many motors as my design required....which makes the catapult much easier to push over at the end.

When I started with the lower catapult, I tried to copy yours as much as possible. I think I started with just the arm and maybe 2 or 3 pulleys to just try to get the trajectory. I forgot about going back in to add more pulleys. I just played around and lucked out.

This is one of those that plays out slightly differently than the first time it was run. But, I've watched it three times and it cleared the field all three times.

(The goal was a designed chain break...but that didn't happen.)

I had several ideas for stopping the ball in the goal, but this one convinced me to move on to something else. The target rolls out the left side of the goal, stops, and then rolls back through the goal to the right. This is either a software glitch or it means that the goal is slightly sloped to the right. Either way, I'm done with this level until someone shows me that I'm wrong.

I had been wondering if you had a plan for the upper 2 balls.
I have the same rolling to the left, then back to the right. If you zoom in really close where the ball turns around, you can see it's 1(?) pixel higher there. I think the line isn't exactly level, and that's just an aliasing bump.

I was hoping for a clean champion, but what with the upper two balls, it's not entirely clean, and since it doesn't end up in the goal, it's not a champion, even though it's in the goal much longer than it takes to get there.


And I had just been in the Junkyard and wondering how that could be cleared. Another amazing idea.

I think not. It's a neat win, though.
There are a couple of kinds of clean, and yours doesn't quite fit any of them.

-If you make the goal and the red piece and all the construction pieces fall off the edge, I call that 'Clean'. Your red piece doesn't go too, so it's not regular clean. I think it would if it weren't for that bump on the left side.

-If you make the goal and all the construction pieces fall off the edge, and the red piece stays in the goal, I call that a 'Clean Champion'. (Based on other terminology on the forum. You could also have Clean & Green, Clean Boomerangs, Clean & Green Boomerang Champions...) DaCoTa seemed to want Clean Champions when he opened this thread. Your red piece doesn't stay in the box, so it's not a champion. Since there seems to be no friction on this piece, it just goes to the bump and maybe comes back all the way to the right. (I'm guessing- yours is the slowest one I've seen, and I've only run it an hour. Maybe it stays at the bump.)

-Then there are those who want it really clean. sccooks http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=262204 from this thread is Super Clean, and my http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=265147 based on that is a Super Clean Champion. You still left a boulder in the goal. Mine http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=281581 gets four of the seven boulders, but still isn't technically clean or a clean champ.

I had a version of this FC that left only two blocks, but on subsequent replays it left four blocks. You got to hate those temporary solutions.

I was thinking that for the wall, it might be easier to throw a vehicle to the other side, then clean leftwards, but I'm not very good with catapults..
