I think the wiki needs more updating...

And by the way, the wiki says that my contraption only takes 38418 ticks... I swear my contraption took 57613 ticks!

Maybe it's because sometimes contraptions work differently the second time than the first.

The slow rolling ball can start further to the left, though not all the way left because of a slight hump:

I get 38418 as well.
It is more noticeable with these long-running designs, but often the design that you save will not run the same when you load it.
Some times you can get a winner, save it, but the reloaded design will not win.
Some designs will run with one tick count; you click Back, STOP, START and get a different count. I've seen a couple where I get 3 different times.

It will be much faster and efficient to update the wiki once the big rush of new solutions ends, otherwise we would have to update every time someone improved it by 1k ticks, which would take much longer.

1) You are still working on it and I don't want to update a bunch of times.
2) People are getting different amounts of ticks for the design
3) I'm lazy.

You're in slow world, where the butterfly effect is alive and well.
I did More Balls yesterday and this one got a 9651, but after I saved it it always gets a 3309 for me.
Then I did this one which got a 7186, but after saving it gets a 7562.

Given that these big numbers are variable, I always replay them after I save. (Well, actually, I didn't check my 33MT design)
I tend to go with the first number I get after loading a design, because the 2nd and 3rd may be different.

In this case, it looks like when you do that, you get a different number than I do (3920, like zhyrek).
This could be due to operating system, CPU, or browser. I'm using Firefox on Windows XP on a Pentium. It would not surprise me if yours was different.
In case of disagreement, I'd say we go with what Wafflekins gets. (and he's waiting)

In other news, I put another delay in Brick Layer:

worked from zedifo's Canyon to get 4656 ,

and modified my Tote 'em Pole by driving it with zhyrek's slow wheel to get 51,560
That one's been frustrating me. I got a couple over 250K and then one around a million, but they fell off through the goal without winning. Back to the drawing board.
(That wheel is a great idea!)
