Yay for peer pressure! The levels look awesome... good levels and simple scoring make the best competitions

I considered putting in 5 more ticks for whichever level you are talking about, but I figured I would rather anger you :D

I'd settle for 1, now

I finally got a three balls solution as well, but mine needs revamped if its going to be a contender.
I just need a solution to the first one and I will be able to at least say I submitted something.

I'm with you Sgt. Got a solve, but not a good one. That level is a bear to tweak.

On the other level I cannot pluck the last tick to save my life.

Sorry about the tweakiness of 3 balls—it was something I was afraid of, but apparently didn't put enough emphasis on. Looking forward to seeing the solutions though!

it was my favorite of the 3 (I liked em all)
very curious to see how others approached it

submitting now

when the results go up, whoever tweaks that damn tick off Slide and posts first gets to pick my FC2 avatar for a month (as long as it won't get me baned)

great comp, Hap! The circle is complete.

Hap I'm guessing that we're allowed multiple submissions, right? Just to double check :)

So I'm not the only person getting really close to lightning on that level?

Oh and resubmitting Three Balls :)

I just started goofing around with this comp and started with Slide. I had no problem getting lightning on Slide...wasn't even close. Granted it won't be competitive due to the number of pieces I'm currently using, but lightning didn't seem too hard. Did you mean Slip instead maybe?

On a side note, I have three different designs for Slip that have both pieces clearly in the goal area, but not getting the victory screen. Weird.

nope
I meant slide
I'm too stubborn to add pieces. you can always knock a tick off
except when you can't

(but I'm sure someone else will tweak it in 2 minutes)

I think with rectangular goal pieces the rings have to be in the goal area too.

I tweaked the goal area for this level for quite a bit so it had what I considered the right amount of leeway (and so users couldn't stuff the ball in places I hadn't intended). As compy said, watch out for those corners!

Yeah, when I watch it REALLY close up and using Print Screen (sure wish we had a pause/rewind feature), I think the ball does a slight bounce and one ring licks over the edge, and by the time the rotation is finished, one corner ring of the rectangle enters into the dark red border of the goal area. In real-time playback it's really hard to see it.

Hopefully this doesn't give away too much of the design. If you think so I'll remove it.

2phun, I would edit that picture to only show the corner of the rectangle piece, because that is what you are talking about, right?

Although the picture really doesn't give much away, its better to be safe than sorry. There are some crazy smart people around here that can gleam new ideas by seeing something you think doesn't give anything away.

Alright, I cropped it down. The ring is clearly inside the outer edge of the dark pink (All other rings of the rect and circ are completely inside the lighter pink), but I guess that doesn't count as a win with rectangular goal pieces. And of course when that ring was completely inside the lighter pink, one of the rings from the goal ball was rolling through the darker pink area at the top. Painful.

Yes, rectangular pieces are an extreme pain because they act differently than circle pieces. Hap tweaked the goal area perfectly to drive us mad.
