New Game: Protonaut

Dudes in the chatroom had some fun with this very early beta so I thought I'd share it on the forum.

It's very early in game design right now - there's no particular goal or point to the game. A fun way of playing right now is to try to collect all the balls without dying.

There is a share of bugs and whatnot, but it has FC-style level loading and editing. (?editId=xx, ?levelId=xx). There's around 77 levels right now but most are hard/broken/impossible. ;)

Oh - hold spacebar for slow-mo.

Wow, cool game. It slightly resembles FC, too. But this game has great possibilities!

If you collect two atoms while in the air,it enables you to fly :lol: .

At this point, no, there's no elemental difference. I'm thinking about making it so you only have to collect "oxygen" to produce a victory condition or something. That might expand the possibilities for level design - and you can still make things any way you like.

I think I'll make the level saving include the gravity setting too. That'd be cool - making zero G levels. :)

The "flying" bug is something I'm working on, it's an error in the box2d engine somewhere. Working with the box2d community to figure it out. :)

It is drivable (in its own funky way), and I have gotten all the balls :)
(Hint: to accelerate the vehicle, run along the platform in the direction you want to go. Then jump to the other side of the platform and run back again. Repeat for as much acceleration as you want.)

This one is drivable, just get on a side and try to go up, and it drives, to go the other way, just change sides!!

(I don'y know why it floats, just hit it once and it falls bact to Earth, you have to do it while your falling at the start.)

Heh. Much better and a much simpler driving mechanism :P . You can move the start position of the guy in the editor by pressing *shift* while clicking on him

If you die, the dying sound effect keeps looping.

The editor requires you to sign in first-

the dying animation looping is a known issue, it's on the list. I Thought peopel would appreciated a looping-dying affect more than a simple "dissappear" event. :)

Does the forgot password work yet? Because everytime I try to login it says " Email in use" like there's a account using my email. I'm pretty sure I'm using the correct information, I just tried it and I'm waiting for a reply to it. I've tried every password and username I've ever used for anything.
