You can no longer sign up for the forums directly through the forums - you get a forum account when creating an account in the game. This shouldn't affect anyone adversely (and no, it doesn't cost to use the forums now - any account, registered or unregistered, automatically triggers things).

Now if only we could go back and delete all the accounts made on the forum that have 0 posts....

Yeah I can delete all the 0 post accounts, but there's a lot of lurkers that just like to read. It would essentially be baneing them from ever posting as they can't create a new account if they do want to post.

So, do you have the 2 Tables linked together or do you just have the signup form sign you up on both? because if you had them linked together, everyone who already has an FC account but not a Forum account would be able to log into the forums with their FC username and password even if they signed up before this change

The tables were linked 2 weeks in, so the only people who won't be able to legitimately access it were those who signed into the game in the first two weeks of the games existence, and haven't tried logging into the forums since then.

you don't have to ban them you just have to remove the username

I think not. 0 post count mean you like to read. And you aren't a very social person. That is a very good thing in my opinion.

If they are lurkers, why do they need an account on the forums?

Very, VERY good point indeed. But you do need an account to see which pages have been read already...
