You might want to restart your computer, or run a virus scan.
The lag would be caused either by your internet connection (not likely because it's conditional) or your computer has a lot of other things going on.

It has been happening for a while now, so i don't think restarting my computer will help. Also my computer runs regular virus scans automatically, so i don't think it's that either. My internet connection is always reliable, and fast as i am at uni, so it isn't that. As regards to my computer having lots of other things going on, i am usually playing fantastic contraption on its own, without running other programs, so i'm not sure about it being that.

I think the problem is something to do with the adverts next to the game. As it seems my browser is always trying to load an ad, also once i have navigated away from the site, i still get fantasticcontraption/AdTopHome.html or something similartrying to load (but obviously doesn't - it just appears at the bottom loading bar).

Any other ideas????

I think the problem is something to do with the adverts next to the game.

If you purchase the game, it removes the ads.

lol, ok i might buy anyway, i'll just have to keep my contraptions using not that many pieces :-) But i am only playing on this game because i am putting off my uni work, so maybe not right now. Ironically it was one of my lecturers who introduced me to the game!

LOL, no i wasn't, i didn't even know there was an option. THANKS, i just have to use bad graphics if the piece count gets too high. Well that made me look stupid :-) why didn't one of the other guys suggest that, instead of the complicated things :-)

Probably because we have all played with simple graphics for so long, that we forgot the option exists.

Any chance of a redesigned 'win' screen? It's awful when it covers up what you're looking at (and it's bad for certain comps).
My suggestion-have it pop-up on the right hand side of the screen but much smaller: just the word 'win' will do and the url. the more discreet the better.

*edit* might as well ditch the 'nice' graphics too as it only slows things down.
