I am just now in the process of seeing the entertainment of toying with other's designs. I first cut the chain to see what it would do, then added a small weight to get up the hump and across the gap.

I have just found out about tinkering. It seems to be educational for me. I like it, but I hope that it isn't offensive. I read drasha write that it was complex, so I tried to see if I could pare it down. I added a balance stick and wheel for reversing power, then dropped a tree to cover the gap. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=950579

nice, I like how the lever serves multiple purposes at different times in the route.

5 cogs, 5 sticks of wood.

Kept it as simple as possible. Someone could maybe modify it to remove the draw bridge to make it even more simple but I couldn't get the speed up
