That rod hanging off the one that pushes the orange ball is not needed I put it in there for the sake of speed while testing tweaks. take it off make it a 6 rod champ and nice job!!!!

Very cool as well. I knew it could be done, but didn't feel like tweaking it

Junkyard looks really hard... you'll need the whole contraption to be launched somehow, either that or something that unfolds and can reach the entire way... either way, the wall may be an easier next challenge.

I hacked it around a bit, including deleting that brown rod, and got it down to: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=1445514 which is a 16 water rod champion, if slightly less elegant than the original.

Unfortunately I couldn't find out who made the starting design.

it appears that the rest are too hard to attempt and so this challenge has died

This can be fixed either by removing weight off the left or adding a blocker on the right,
but it's such a wonderful piece of engineering that I'll leave it to whocares to fix it.
