Final Medal Count
It is a rare time, once every two years, when people of all countries gather to compete for the pride and respect of their nation. It is a time when competition rages, and the entire world holds their breath and waits for a winner to emerge. It is a time where the whole world comes together on one stage. And that time is here. It is with great privellege that I present to you the 2010 Fantastic Olympic Games. Here is how it works:
Choosing Teams:
- Each team will represent a country.
- Teams may contain up to 3 players. (If anyone REALLY REALLY wants, I could possibly allow a team of 4)
- Choosing teams is on a first-come first-serve basis.
- To choose what country you want, just reply to this topic or PM me with the country you would like. You will be assigned to that country unless it already has 3 players on it.
- You do NOT have to qualify before you select your country, although if you don't turn in a qualifier before the deadline, you will not be allowed to participate in the games.
- Each team will have one captain that will submit the designs for your team, and that I will refer to if there are any issues.
- Check 2 posts below this to see if your country is available.
Events
All countries will participate in one event (level) at a time. Each level will resemble an olympic event and will have a scoring system that I think would most appropriately represents the scoring for that event. Scoring systems will be posted with the levels as each new event comes out. Each member of a country will collaborate on a design. to get one solve that they will turn in as a team. Once the deadline is up, the highest scoring country will recieve a gold medal, while 2nd and 3rd recieve silver and bronze respectively. 4th, 5th, 6th, etc. will recieve no medal. The next event will then be released. There will be approximately 6 events.
Medals
After every event has been completed, I will tally up the medals. I will post each country's gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as how many total medals they acquired. No official winner will be declared (as in the real olympics), but it will be clear who had the most gold medals, as well as which countries had more medals than other countries.
Qualifier
Level: Light The Torch
Scoring: None. Just beat it to qualify.
Deadline: Thurs, Feb. 11th, 10PM CST.
PM your submissions. Don't worry about submission formats for the qualifier, but I'll put those up once the events start. EACH PLAYER MUST SUBMIT THEIR OWN DESIGN FOR THE QUALIFIER
I realize that the deadline is pretty far away, but I want the first event to begin when the actual Olympics start, which is Feb 12th. I made this topic very early because people were getting angsty about calling dibs for their countries. If you guys would like, I could start Round 1 earlier, or I could post levels and challenges to keep you guys entertained. Let me know.
