Entry Deadline: 11:59:59 p.m. PST on March 20th, 2009
Scoring
- The objective of the competition is to get the lowest score possible (like golf)
- Everybody will start with 0 points
- +1 point for each water or wood rod
- +2 points for each unpowered (blue) wheel
- +4 points for each powered wheel
- 3% (rounded down) of your tick-count will be added to your point total
- +100 points for not completing a level
- Each badge you earn will deduct from your total score (see table below)
| Badge | Description | Points |
HandsOff Badge ![]() |
You earn this badge if you don't move the goal object from it's original starting position during the build phase! It's not possible to touch the goal object if it starts outside the build area, of course. | -2 |
Champion Badge ![]() |
Leaves the goal piece(s) in the goal forever! Don't let them roll out or trundle on after the Victory message. Even this tiny change will make your contraptions require a lot more thought! | -3 |
Clean Badge ![]() |
Clean up after yourself! Remove all traces of your contraption from the playing area by throwing them off cliffs after beating the level! (does not count the goal object) | -2 |
Green Badge ![]() |
An environmentally-friendly contraption that uses only rods, sticks and un-powered wheels. Can you let gravity do the work for you? | -3 |
Brown Badge ![]() |
Earn yourself a Brown Badge by beating the level with nothing more than water and wooden sticks. No wheels allowed! (Cumulative points with above badge) | -4 |
Water Badge ![]() |
You earn this badge by using only the hollow blue water rods. (Cumulative points with above badge) | -5 |
Rodless Badge
|
You only use wheels to defeat the level! No rods or sticks allowed. Yes, that will mean all of your wheels are unpowered (unless, of course, you attach them to goal objects!) | -20 |
